Philadelphia's
citizens and it's government are responsible
for keeping the city trash free. Yet many
neighborhoods beyond the boundaries of Center
City are neglected to the point of tragedy.
The amount of visible trash in the streets,
vacant lots and parks is astounding. It reflects
an attitude of indifference, a lack of pride
and, ultimately, selfishness. But even within
Center City there is neglect. Often, trash
is merely "swept under the carpet"
or just pushed around for the sake of the
millions of tourists who visit each year.
To some, this film will be eye-opening. To
others, it will act as a reminder that we
are all responsible, in some way, for creating
the problem and for finding solutions. |
